NEIGHBORS TEAM UP TO REDUCE WILDFIRE RISKS & COSTS
Join us to become Firewise certified. Together we can make our community safer and qualify for insurance discounts.
Firewise USA provides guidance on home hardening. By getting Firewise certified, we can work with our insurance companies to lower rates and potentially prevent policy cancellations.
We are a group of your neighbors from Oakwood, Wild Currant, and Glen Oaks Way that organized as "a minimum of eight individual single-family dwelling units required to form a Firewise community."
Then more neighbors expressed interest in joining. So we've expanded efforts, starting with contiguous segments of Forestland as shown in the map, but we are open to expansion.
Inspired by the success of the nearby Berkeley Firewise Community, we formed the Oakland Forestland Firewise Community.
